Responding to safety calls in London, a lower side window is now available for retrofitting on selected recent MAN trucks.

The nearside door viewing panel increases direct vision and improves visibility of cyclists, as recommended by the Transport for London CLOCS report.

The window can be fitted post-registration to the TGX, TGS, TGM and TGL models and the service is currently being offered by John Arnold Commercials, Cordwallis Group Heathrow and PCL North London.

Nick Handy, MAN sales engineering manager, said: “We take the issue of vulnerable road users’ safety very seriously and have been looking at the best methods to offer this solution to our customers post-registration to enable nearside direct vision to be increased.

“The CLOCS guide for construction and logistics is designed to reduce the risk of an incident involving vulnerable road users and mitigate the severity of collisions."
