Ryder Avonmouth has gained Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) approval to become an Approved Tachograph Centre.

The first Ryder location to achieve this status, the approval was the result of many months work installing new equipment and a dedicated tachograph office, plus the training and qualification of two technicians.

“By making the investment to be able to calibrate tachographs in-house, means that we can control the entire process, rather than be reliant on an outside provider,” comments Bruce Howard, Ryder’s operations director. “This enables us to provide an enhanced service to our customers.”

Tachograph calibration compliments the other service offerings provided at Ryder’s Avonmouth location, which include MOT testing, servicing and repair work.

Initially, Ryder will carry out tachograph calibrations on their own contract hire and rental vehicles, but ultimately the service will be offered to retail maintenance customers as well.
