Zenith employees have achieved the Freight Transport Association (FTA) certificate of excellence, following completion of a course on best practice for the operation of vans and LCVs.

The qualification is provided in conjunction with FTA’s Van Excellence Code. It covers guidance relating to the safe, legal and efficient running of vans and LCVs including vehicle maintenance systems, administration, speed limits, licences and towing equipment.

Twelve Zenith employees from its LCV and maintenance teams all successfully completed the course and received a certificate of excellence.

The course was provided as part of Zenith’s training academy which aims to provide professional qualifications and support to enhance existing skills, provide a continually improving service and help employees to meet their career aspirations.

Zenith partnered with the FTA in 2012 to help promote their standards of excellence among its van and LCV customers.

Ryan Long, head of LCV proposition and supply chain at Zenith, said: “We have invested heavily in our LCV offering over the last few years and we continue to build our teams, develop their skills and evolve our systems.

"The certificates form another part of the development and it is great to see that every employee successfully completed the course.”

Mark Cartwright, head of vans and LCVs at FTA, said: “It’s great to see Zenith continually investing in its LCV team. The collaborative approach Zenith takes while working with its van customers sets a great example to the industry and the Van Excellence Certificate of Excellence qualifications can only further enhance this.

"More and more operators are recognising the benefits of Van Excellence and we’re delighted to have Zenith as part of the team.”
