The latest vehicle to join our long-term test fleet is the smallest Transit you can buy, weighing in at 2.6 tonnes gross vehicle weight, and is the current Fleet Van light panel van of the year
We chose the 115bhp engine as it’s about the right amount of punch for a panel van. 

Being a Transit, ABS brakes and ESP traction control came as standard. But what about all those other items? One box certainly ticked was the passenger airbag. We also opted for the Quickclear windscreen. Most vans are kept outside and it’s a miracle to see this item in operation on cold mornings.

Ford also added a built-in sat-nav unit that we hadn’t actually asked for at £945. All this raises the basic price of our van from £15,670 to £17,930 ex-VAT.
