Kingston Works takes on 13 Peugeot e-Expert vans

Kingston Works Limited, the principal provider of housing maintenance, street lighting and vehicle fleet services to Hull City Council, has taken on 13 pure-electric Peugeot e-Expert vans.

These will join a number of other zero emission vehicles on the organisations’ fleet and takes the total number of Peugeot vehicles operated by them to close to 200.

Both KWL and HCC are working towards electrifying its entire fleet and hope the new vans will showcase the credentials of EVs.

Gary Middleton, fleet manager at Hull City Council, said: “Peugeot’s products have proven a first line choice for many years for both KWL and HCC.

“Given Peugeot’s previous work in providing a wide range of vehicles for both KWL and HCC, the e-Expert was a natural successor to progress the continuous electrification of our fleet.”

The e-Expert vans have an electric range of up to 211 miles, a maximum payload of 1,226kg (model dependent) and load volume of 6.1cu m.

They are available with either a 50kWh or 75kWh battery, and support up to 100kW rapid charging, which means the e-Expert can be charged from 0-80% in 30 minutes.

Basic MRRP prices (before VAT) for e-Expert start from £32,965 for the entry specification with a 50kWh battery.

Virtual Fleet & Mobility Live 2020: The virtual fleet expo

Video: Fleet News editor-in-chief Stephen Briers and events director Chris Lester introduce the 2020 virtual event and give a preview of what it will look like.

The annual event was due to take place at the NEC, Birmingham on October 6-7 but as a result of the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and after consultation with the visitor advisory board, Fleet News has taken the decision to hold an online event in November instead.

Among the exclusive features at the virtual event will be a special EV & Hybrid Showroom which will bring to life the latest electric models with interactive displays that will enable you to get up close to the UK’s best fleet suppliers.

Visitors and exhibitors will be able to communicate through live chat, participate in live Q&As, ‘visit’ branded booths, and find out about industry-leading technology solutions.

The decision to go virtual was made easier by the fact that around 40% of fleets already have, or expect to shortly have, a company travel ban that would prevent them from attending live events this year, while a similar proportion did not anticipate attending live events until sometime in 2021.
