More than eight in 10 (83%) van drivers would consider an electric vehicle as their next LCV, a survey by Vanarama has found.

However, the commercial and personal online vehicle leasing company found 90% of the customers it surveyed did not know enough about EVs to be able to fully commit.

Vanarama has joined forces with Green.tv to become a founding partner of the inaugural World EV day, which takes place tomorrow.

The event is a ‘celebration of global electric mobility and aims to raise awareness and create discussion around e-mobility’.

Paul Kirby, head of EV and LCV at Vanarama, said: “We’re delighted to be a founding partner of World EV Day.

“For us it’s all about giving our customers a seat at the table and help give them a voice. It’s clear they’re interested in electric vans but need more information to make the transition.

"World EV Day will help us do exactly that and open up a dialogue about EV which is only going to increase in the years to come”

As part of World EV day, Vanarama will share a number of pieces of educational content on its social media channels.

It is also offering free charge points to EV leasing customers in partnership with Charged EV.

Vanarama said it hopes the offer, designed to support the UK Government’s Net Zero commitment, will encourage customers to make the transition to EVs.
