Volkswagen has released a preview of its all-new Caddy, which will be revealed in February 2020.

Initial sketches indicate a sportier look for the small van, while VW promises it will continue fulfil fleet demands.

Shown here is the Cargo version of the new Caddy with several nods to the actual full production panel van. These include vertically arranged, slim LED lights at the rear.

At the front there is a more aggressive look, with a narrower grille and new LED headlamps.

The concept vehicle drawings also show a larger rear window, a significant element of the Caady Life passenger car variant. In line with customer wishes, the commercially used versions of the new Caddy will also have a non-transparent tailgate and continue to offer swing doors as an option.

Powertrains are yet to be confirmed but are likely to include petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid.

There have been no hints of an electric model, although the brand has already confirmed it is working on a separate electric van as part of its ID sub-brand.
