Avis Budget Group, has today announced the launch of its first-ever commercial vehicle supersite in Castleford, Yorkshire.

The new hub will be a centre of excellence for Avis and Budget UK commercial rental operations, further improving its service and focusing on the specific needs of its customers, it said.

With increased capacity and capabilities, the new supersite will expand the company’s commercial fleet network, helping to build a wider range of specialised vehicles including double and single-cab tippers, Luton vans, box vans, drop sides and crew cabs.

It says that, thanks to the new supersite, more SME’s and business customers can now benefit from a delivery and collection service when booking commercial vehicles through Avis UK.

Customers who book through Budget UK are able to pick-up their commercial vehicle directly from the new location in Castleford.

James Turner, fleet and supply chain director in the UK, Norway, Sweden and Denmark for Avis Budget Group, said: “The opening of our new Castleford hub will enable us to expand our national fleet network, while still providing a localised, personal service to our customers.

“With a dedicated team of commercial vehicle specialists, we can ensure that the needs of our customers are met quickly and efficiently.”

The supersite will have the resource to store and manage over 100 vans on-site, and Avis Budget Group is introducing electric charging points to demonstrate its commitment to the future of commercial vehicle rental.
