Swarco Traffic has adopted the Ctrack Mobi app to improve road safety and compliance.

The company will use the mobile tool to promote responsible driving across its van fleet as well as enable daily vehicle inspections to be performed quickly and effectively.

The introduction of Driver Mobi will provide an effective means of communicating driving scores to staff via a smartphone – with a breakdown of harsh and prohibited events – alongside company or team average scores.

As a result, drivers will use the online feedback to identify their own individual areas of improvement, while being encouraged to drive more responsibly through gamification. This, says Ctrack, will enhance Swarco’s existing road safety strategy, which uses the Ctrack software to monitor driver behaviour and target risk reduction.

It will also use Driver Mobi to capture daily vehicle check data. A bespoke, smartphone-enabled vehicle checklist will allow drivers to complete their safety inspections electronically, providing the operations team with immediate visibility of compliance and any maintenance requests.

As such, Ctrack says that Swarco will be able to reduce its administrative burden, better coordinate vehicle repairs and minimise downtime, while at the same time capture the necessary evidence required for ongoing FORS accreditation.

Duncan Harrision, operations manager at Swarco, said: “Ctrack has been able to tailor the telematics solution to meet our precise business and operational requirements, which is helping us successfully target productivity, safety and compliance benefits.

“Their team is highly responsive, providing all the support we need, so we can make the most of our vehicle tracking system.”

Steve Thomas, managing director of Ctrack UK by Inseego, said: “We are committed to going above and beyond other providers within the marketplace to create advanced telematics solutions that deliver real value.

“We provide unrivalled support through the development, implementation and ongoing management phases to ensure our customers achieve maximum and continued returns based on their individual fleet needs.”

Swarco has been using vehicle tracking since 2006 to gain visibility and control over its fleet of vans that operate across the UK’s motorway network.

The web-based Ctrack Online system enables the company to monitor the exact whereabouts of its maintenance and installation resources, with the operations team able to assign incoming jobs to the most appropriate vehicle based on location and availability.

As a result, Swarco is able to best react to faults and meet strict service level agreements, while keeping its customers up to date on the progress of any issue resolution.
