Venson Automotive Solutions has passed the requirements for the Freight Transport Association’s (FTA) Van Excellence scheme for the fifth consecutive year.
Based on the FTA’s best practice guidelines, the certificate recognises Venson’s continued commitment to raising the standards of van and light commercial vehicle fleets across the industry.
Managed by the FTA, the Van Excellence scheme is designed by some of the UK’s most respected van operators in the UK and recognises excellence in operational standards. The Van Excellence Code sits at the heart of this certificate, offering fleet operators guidance on ‘what good looks like’ in van operations.
FTA auditors visited Venson to examine its procedures for managing its in-house commercial fleet, including driver checks and vehicle record checks.
Organisations need to continually strive to encourage positive van driver behaviour and performance, enhancing the reputation of the company and improving standards across the industry.
“For the fifth year in a row, Venson has retained its Van Excellence accreditation from the FTA,” said Samantha Roff, managing director of Venson Automotive Solutions.
“The auditor made particular note of our level of preparation prior to their arrival, which made their auditing process much smoother.
“Everyone who participated from Venson also demonstrated their knowledge and commitment to the scheme, which impressed the auditors.”
She continued: “We’re extremely proud to see the whole Venson team engage with our mission to raise standards within the industry. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we continue to be recognised as an example of best practice.”
Mark Cartwright, head of vans and light commercial vehicles at FTA, said: “Year-on-year, Venson shows its dedication to enhancing all its van operations to meet the requirements of the Van Excellence scheme.
“The aim of the initiative is to drive up standards in fleet safety, efficiency and sustainability and we are delighted to publicly recognise Venson’s achievements in all of these areas.
“We hope Venson’s accreditation encourages more van operators to follow their lead and focus on maintaining the best vehicles and driver safety and compliance.”
