Lodge Tyre Co has signed a new deal with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to secure 50 converted Volkswagen Crafter vans this year, with 15 already delivered.

The Volkswagen vans were supplied by West Yorkshire Van Centre and are Startline 140 PS 2.0-litre TDI manual FWD Crafter Panel vans. The tyre company has also ordered two Caddys; one short wheel-base and one Caddy Maxi.

The deal marks Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ first expansion into the tyre trade with the new Volkswagen Crafter now able to be fitted with specialised air compressors on the engines. All of Lodge Tyre Co’s 50 Crafters will be converted with these air compressors alongside customised racking and livery.

Working with fleet operators for more than 80 years, Lodge Tyre Co offers a mobile service to ensure vans and trucks are kept on the road all year round.

Andy Wills, group fleet manager for Lodge Tyre Co, said: “We need vans that can be relied upon all year round and help us to deliver a service of the highest standard.

“The tailored package that is available with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, including its dedicated aftersales programme and servicing options, made this an extremely easy decision for us.”

Lodge Tyre Co says that Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles was chosen by the tyre company due to the quality and reliability of its products, as well as the brand’s flexible mobile servicing network.

The Mobile Service Clinics aim to allow customers to stay on the move, with fully equipped service and repair vehicles able to bring the Van Centre direct to their door
