Coffee specialist Pelican Rouge has taken delivery of 62 new Volkswagen Crafter vans, joining its fleet of 550 vehicles.

The company said it chose the Crafters due to the vehicles’ reliability and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ dedicated and supportive UK-wide Van Centre network.

Active in ten countries with more than 150,000 customers, Pelican Rouge serves 8,500,000 cups of coffee a day. In the UK, the Crafters will be used to transport and deliver coffee machines, equipment and products.

Over the next 18 months, Pelican Rouge UK aims to overhaul its fleet with the new Volkswagen Crafter playing a significant role.

Mark Hodgson, Pelican Rouge’s senior fleet manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is now the manufacturer of choice for Pelican Rouge. We are delighted with the choice; the Crafter is the ideal vehicle to improve and progress our business. Its excellent reliability, dependability and consistent performance are key reasons for our decision.

“The dedicated and extremely efficient Volkswagen network fills us with confidence in the support services that can and will be offered to us. Moving on, we are excited to take delivery of the new model over the course of the next couple of years.”
