Hubio Fleet will be at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show with its telematics experts on hand to talk to fleet managers who are looking for a safer and more efficient way to monitor their drivers.

Two trackers are available – an OBD plugin that plugs directly into a vehicle’s on-board diagnostics port (OBD port) and a larger black box that is professionally fitted and hidden out of sight.

Data from both devices is transmitted over the mobile phone network and users can then see exactly where their drivers are in real-time using a dashboard accessed through any web-enabled device with a username and password.

One company using Hubio Fleet has already seen its drivers become safer and has also generated fuel cost savings of 15%. Labour supplier Skilled Labour Services (Southern), based in Portsmouth, supplies two, three or four man construction gangs across the South of England using a fleet of 16 modern five-seat vans.

Managing director Richard Allen says he and his team log in daily to the Hubio Fleet dashboard, using the Live Map to see that his 16 vehicles are arriving at their sites on time. “What I really like about Hubio Fleet is being able to see the whereabouts of the total fleet at a glance,” he said. “I can cross check each vans total mileage its fuel bill. Hubio Fleet has also let me monitor out of hours use of the vans, so right away we can see which of our drivers are using them for private mileage.

“In the past we didn’t have this insight, but now that we do, we are saving around £600 a month off our fuel bill. That more than covers the ongoing costs of the Hubio Fleet platform.”

Hubio Fleet will be in Hall 4 of the NEC on stand number 4J130 from Tuesday, April 25, to Thursday, April 27, 2017.
