Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched a new head unit to upgrade navigation and sound system capability.

Launched in collaboration with Kenwood, the new navigation and multimedia unit offers new features such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

The latest navigation and multimedia unit is available as an approved dealer fit accessory.

Available from all Volkswagen Van Centres and Authorised Repairers from the start of this month, the new Kenwood unit features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Spotify integration alongside  full Europe Garmin navigation, Bluetooth hands-free and streaming connectivity and DAB digital radio tuner.

Developed as an evolution of Kenwood’s DNX525DAB Volkswagen aftermarket offering, the new unit retains the standard factory functions such as working with steering controls, displaying parking sensors and reversing camera (if fitted).

The new unit features a 7-inch high-res touchscreen, DVD, CD, USB, SD card for digital music playback and iPod connectivity, as well as three year free map updates, TMC traffic updates and photo-real junction views to help inform drivers of the road ahead. The navigation system also offers over three million points of interest which are displayed via icons on the map.

The cost of the new unit, which includes fitting, is £1,130.50 (RRP inc. VAT).
