Hubio has launched a new fleet tracker called Hubio Fleet at the Commercial Fleet Van and Truck show, which is currently taking place at Millbrook Proving Ground.
Hubio Fleet gives fleet managers and owner-operators insights into driver behaviour and fleet statistics with a subscription giving access to an online dashboard showing how the entire fleet is performing.
Two tracking devices are on offer from Hubio Fleet – an OBD plug-in that a user can fit directly into a vehicle’s on-board diagnostics port and a ‘black box’ that is professionally fitted and hidden out of sight.
Data (including GPS location, speed, acceleration, braking) from the OBD plug-in or black box is then transmitted over the mobile phone network to the fleet manager or owner-operator who can see where their drivers are in real-time on a Google map.
The fleet manager can see at a glance how ‘safely’ their fleet is performing by looking at a traffic-light-coloured Fleet Safety indicator.
As a result of monitoring speed, harsh braking, cornering and acceleration, a company can benefit from fewer accidents, less cost on maintenance and fuel savings of up to 15%.
The team behind Hubio Fleet, headed by Andrew Betteley, chief technology officer connected car, spoke with fleet managers and owner-operators prior to creating Hubio Fleet and discovered they were looking for 'easy ordering', 'a prompt supply', 'excellent service' and 'a simple to use interface'.
Louise Robertson, chief marketing officer at Hubio Fleet, said: “Hubio Fleet is aimed at both small business owners who run a number of vehicles as well as large firms with hundreds on their books.
“Ultimately these people are looking for time efficiency and ways to lower their operating times and costs. If they can now do this from a simple online dashboard that can be accessed from any web-enabled device, then we’re that bit closer to changing the perception of fleet management software. Ours works, it’s easy to use and it provides game-changing insights that will make a difference to their business.”
