South East based-grounds maintenance company, Burleys, has taken delivery of three Iveco New Daily light commercials.

The new vehicles will be used by Burleys on its grounds maintenance contracts, including one with Runnymede Borough Council to maintain the areas around the Magma Carta monument next to the River Thames.

The three New Daily chassis cabs, which were supplied by Iveco dealer Hendy Van & Truck in a deal brokered by leasing provider Key Vans, join the Burleys fleet of 140 vehicles and have each been fitted with a lightweight plant body with beavertail by Solent Bodyworks.

A large proportion of Burleys’ grounds maintenance work involves the use of specialist machinery and equipment which needs to be transported by commercial vehicles that are specifically designed and fabricated for grounds maintenance operations.

Giles Burley, director at Burleys, said: “The three New Daily vehicles will make it possible to maintain the high standards of service our company provides.

“We already run two Iveco 7.5 tonne Eurocargos and one 5.2 tonne Daily and have been extremely pleased with their reliability, performance and versatility.

“The nature of our business means we work our vehicles hard and require a 3.5 tonner that can handle anything we throw at it during its seven year life on our fleet.

“Vehicles also need to have excellent manoeuvrability for some of the sites we access, and here New Daily really delivers.”

He added: “Another key factor which led to us choosing Iveco was the shorter lead time compared to the competitors.

“Hendy and Key vans ensured we got the vehicles into service several months sooner than was possible with other brands we explored.”
