SHB Hire's Heathrow depot has gained the Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme (FORS) bronze accreditation.

FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme open to all companies operating a fleet of vans, lorries, mini-buses or coaches, and encourages all operators to work to the law and best practices. The FORS accreditation is split into three levels: bronze, silver and gold.

Receiving the FORS accreditation at the Heathrow depot helps SHB play its part in making London’s roads safer and adhering to the London Safer Lorry Scheme that went into effect on September 1, 2015.

Nicky Simpson, SHB’s commercial director, said: “With operating vehicles in and around London we felt it was important to focus on improving vehicle safety and the awareness of vulnerable road users and a great way to do this and to align with many of our customer’s goals was to work towards our FORS accreditations of which the Bronze was the first step on our journey.”

With successfully being certified with the bronze accreditation at their Heathrow depot, SHB aims to have all 14 nationwide depots operating to the FORS silver standard processes and procedures by September 30, 2016.
