Commercial vehicle hire specialist TOM Vehicle Rental has been placed at no.247 in the latest Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250.

The Top Track 250 ranks Britain's leading private mid-market growth companies.

It is the company’s first appearance on the annual list and comes during a period of growth for the Airdrie based company.

Based on sales and profit, the league table demonstrates how much mid-market businesses contribute to the UK’s economy.

Together, the 250 mid-market companies have combined sales of £69 billion, generate operating profits of £4 billion and employ a total of 347,000 people.

James Rafferty, vehicle rental group sales & operations director at TOM, said: “To feature in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 is a fantastic achievement for us and marks what has been a great journey so far for us this year.

“We have profitably grown our fleet size and customer portfolio in every core asset category, cars, vans, trucks and trailers

“At the same time we have expanded our depot network throughout the UK adding new sites in England to improve our coverage and offer additional platforms for sustained future growth.

“It was a privilege to be recognised alongside high-profile brands such as Caffè Nero, Nandos and Travelodge.”

He added: “We aim to continue developing our own brand and to be back next year with an improved ranking”
