A Ford Transit donated by Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicles to Manheim’s charity fundraising fortnight achieved a hammer price of £6,100 at the auction company’s Haydock site last week.

The winning bidder was Colin Stanfield of the E. J. Stansfield Group, a family-run van business in Rossendale, Lancashire.

The five-year old Transit was donated by Hitachi Capital to support Manheim’s fundraising effort linked to the Transit’s 50th birthday, with half the money raised going to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity long-supported by Ford UK, and half going to the Manheim Foundation.

From August 3-14, Manheim pledged £10 to charity for each Transit sold at its auction sites across the UK, with 100% of the hammer price for the donated van going to charity.

Manheim’s James Davis said: “The eventual hammer price of £6,100 was a fantastic result and means a lot for the two charitable organisations we supported throughout our fundraising fortnight.”
