North East daily rental company A.M. Hire is making a £1million investment in its fleet.

The company has recently spent more than £600,000 upgrading its fleet, and plans to invest a further £1m on new vehicles during the next 12 months.

The recent investment includes 30 new vans, eight new minibuses, and 10 new cars.

A.M. Hire, which was formed in 1984, hires cars, vans and minibuses to private, retail and corporate clients.

Managing director Steve Chambers said: "The company has seen a recent increase in the level of business, and as a result has taken the decision to make a significant investment in the fleet."
