Samsara has expanded its tachograph solution in the UK and European markets to include live tacho status and instant tacho analysis.

The new features are in addition to remote downloads, which was available previously.

Samsara’s tachograph management solution is available as part of the company’s all-in-one fleet management platform, which includes real-time telematics, vehicle tracking, safety and dash cams, as well as routing and messaging.

It says that the new features will help customers: prevent potential infringements; maximise driver productivity; and streamline compliance.

Samsara’s tachograph solution has already been praised for its ease of use and functionality, by Matt Smith, manager at Collins Earthworks.

He said: "The tachograph solution is brilliant. We can see exactly how much drive time drivers have left and add collections as needed. It has made a huge difference to the efficiency of our fleet."

Joe Sinden, fleet manager at haulage company SJ Barrick, added: "Samsara gives us a complete system we can use for all of our needs.

“To be able to go from vehicle tracking to driving hours to documents with two clicks of a mouse is incredible. There are very few other systems that can do that."

Nirav Patel, senior director of business operations for Samsara Europe, said: “Since entering the UK market a year ago, our comprehensive solution has had quick adoption across fleets of all sizes.

“Building products specific to British fleets is a focus for us. Our advanced tachograph solution is one of the results of that focus and came, in part, from direct feedback we heard from our customers.

“In the next year, we’ll be increasing our technology developments even further so we can help our customers improve the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of their operations.”

Tachograph management is available as part of Samsara’s complete fleet management solution. The new features are available to existing customers at no extra cost.
