Watson Fuels has begun the replacement of its 350-strong fleet of trucks with DAF Euro 6 compliant trucks.

The commercial fuels and lubricants specialist has already introduced 58 new DAF rigid trucks to its fleet, ranging from 12 to 32 tonne, with another 30 to be added this month.

Covering more than 15 million miles annually, the new trucks will deliver efficiency improvements and reduced NOx and particulate emissions.

Scott Roberts, operations and logistics director at Watson Fuels, said: “This is a huge investment for the business which heralds a period of transformation for the brand.

“We’ve always been seen as a trustworthy and reliable partner to our customers; we want to build on those qualities while leading the way in the fuels sector by renewing our fleet of vehicles and adopting an ambitious automation programme.

“This step is part of a phased approach to what is an exciting period of change for Watson.”
