Maxxis has revealed a new “wider” choice of tyre size and patterns to complement their vehicles in 2019.

The new products have been manufactured with performance, safety and durability in mind.

Spearheading its offering is the VanSmart AS AL2, an all-season van tyre with three main lateral grooves in the profile, the tyre excels in wet conditions due to its excellent water dispersion and increased grip on wet surfaces. Its renewed silica compound keeps the rubber supple at low temperatures, while reinforced shoulder blocks help to reduce tyre wear and increase durability.

Alongside this is the VanSmart MCV3+. Designed with long-lasting performance in mind, it features large shoulder blocks and connections between the blocks to prevent uneven wear, along with wider grooves in the tread for exceptional stability at high speeds. Additionally, an increased number of sipes on the main grooves and shoulders increases comfort and traction in the snow and mud.

Likewise, the Bravo Series UE-168 has been manufactured with durability in mind on long-haul journeys.

It is equipped with an extra heavy-duty sidewall, and the premium tread compound increases the tyre’s life by improving its resistance to abrasion, while a high tensile strength, steel-belted construction reinforces puncture resistance.

Maxxis UK’s managing director Derek McMartin said: “We know how important it is for van drivers to rely on their vehicle and the impact it can have on businesses when they are out of operation.

"It’s why we develop our tyres with features such as heavy-duty sidewalls and reinforced shoulder blocks to ensure long-lasting durability.”
