TruckEast’s Ely branch has gained Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) accreditation to become an approved tachograph centre – the 11th branch within the group to reach this status.

The facility’s approval comes as a result of months of work installing new equipment and training the dedicated technicians.

Open from 8am until midnight Monday-Friday and again 8am until 12 noon on a Saturday, the centre is authorised to carry out work on both analogue and digital tachographs of all makes.

Now with the ability to carry out repairs, calibrations and inspections at their in-house facility, there is no longer a need for vehicles to be seen by a third party, saving customers both time and money.

“The decision to invest and have the ability to calibrate tachograph’s onsite means an enhanced service to our customer base,” said depot manager Sam Biggin.

“Following the extended opening hours that Ely undertook last September, this additional offering means local operators can continue to minimise downtime of their fleet.”

Based on Lancaster Way, TruckEast Ely boasts a broad range of services including servicing and repairs of all makes commercials, trailers and ancillary equipment, roller brake testing and MOT preparation, parts, Scania Truck Sales and now the latest addition of tachograph.
