After nearly thirty years in Thame, Oxfordshire, DAF Trucks is moving to a new facility in neighbouring Haddenham, Buckinghamshire.

Last week, an official groundbreaking ceremony took place that signals the beginning of a £20 million investment that is “Instrumental in further strengthening DAF’s market leading position in the UK”, says Ray Ashworth, MD for DAF Trucks UK.

Senior executives from DAF Trucks NV and PACCAR were joined at the ground-breaking ceremony by Simon Smits, the Dutch ambassador to the UK, as well as representatives from the local authorities and the project management company.

The new three-story facility will be complete in July 2018 and will have almost 50,000 sq ft of office space and will include a state-of-the-art auditorium, as well as an ultra-modern four-bay workshop to offer world class training facilities for DAF Dealers and employees.

“The new facility is being built at a time when DAF is enjoying record success in the UK,” said Ashworth. “In the UK, DAF is the market leader and set a record 30.1% share in the above 6.0-tonne market. Together with our 56 excellent dealers with 139 locations in the UK and Ireland, we offer our customers industry-leading trucks and services and we are excited to help them grow their businesses from this new UK headquarters.”
