DAF Trucks to be driven at Commercial Fleet Van and Truck

Commercial vehicle manufacturer DAF Trucks will be at the Commercial Fleet Van & Truck event with two vehicles from its range to drive.

The DAF Range includes vehicles from 7.5 to 44 tonnes, and comprises three main vehicle models and an extensive range of rigid and tractor configurations to suit individual customer and operational needs.

The DAF LF, which is available as a two axle rigid from 7.5t to 18t GVW, and as a two axle urban tractor, is the true urban distribution specialist.

The DAF CF is the most versatile model in the range and includes a range of configurations from 18t to 44t and even specialist heavy haulage application in two, three and four axle rigid and tractor configurations.

The DAF XF tops the range and offers the maximum driver comfort and space for long distance transport.

At the event there will be examples of the LF and XF available to drive, providing the ideal opportunity to get behind the wheel of the UK’s leading heavy goods vehicles.

Powered by the PACCAR PX-5, 4.5litre engine producing 180hp and matched to a 6 speed manual gearbox with servoshift, the LF at the Van & Truck Ride & Drive event is easy to drive.

Visitors to the event will be able to experience the LF’s manoeuvrability and suitability for urban distribution around Millbrook’s City Course as well as testing its handling and performance around the Hill Route and High Speed Bowl.

The LF is available with a range of box and curtainsided bodies designed and manufactured at DAF’s Leyland Assembly Plant in Lancashire. The example at Millbrook is equipped with the innovative Aerobody which cuts fuel consumption by up to 8% during high speed operation.

The DAF XF is the flagship of the DAF Range of vehicles and the XF cab is the ideal working and living space for drivers that spend time away from home.

The vehicle at Millbrook Is equipped with the Super Space cab to provide class leading storage space and comfort, and has been equipped as a training vehicle fitted with additional seats in place of the normal bunk, allowing visitors the opportunity to appreciate the view of Millbrook as a passenger.

The XF is powered by the 12.9litre PACCAR MX-13 at 460hp matched to a 12 speed AS Tronic automated gearbox and visitors will have the opportunity to drive the vehicle laden around the Hill Route and High Speed bowl.
