Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Aberdeen and Highland has been rewarded at the manufacturer’s latest celebration of truck sales and after sales excellence.

The UK’s most northerly franchisee claimed no fewer than three of the evening’s eight awards including the biggest prize of all – the Mercedes-Benz Truck Dealer of the Year title.

Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles also claimed the Customer Service Dealer of the Year trophy in recognition of its superb service and parts provision, while head of truck sales Andrew Rennie took the honours on behalf of his team when he was named Truck Sales Manager of the Year.

Head of customer service Colin Birnie said: “These awards are testament to the huge strides we’ve made since taking over this franchise three years ago.

“Massive investments in improving our facilities, and in recruiting and training staff of the highest calibre, have been matched only by the determination of our employees to deliver the finest levels of service to all our customers.”

Andrew Rennie added: “We’re very much ‘one team’ here and everyone understands that we’re all pulling in the same direction. Every member of the company team has played a part in bringing these awards home to Scotland and they can all be rightly proud of their contributions.”

Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Aberdeen and Highland took on the manufacturer’s Truck and Van franchises for North and North-East Scotland in 2012, since when parent company T.O.M Vehicle Rental has underwritten the transformation of the business.

Its dealership on Aberdeen’s Altens Industrial Estate has been completely refurbished and the workshop extended, while a new, purpose-designed facility has been opened on the Balmakeith Industrial Estate, Nairn. Both sites feature DVSA-approved Authorised Testing Facility lanes. The company has also recently upgraded its truck and van workshops in Ayr and Airdrie which also feature ATFs.

Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Aberdeen and Highland sell and support the manufacturer’s award-winning Truck range – which comprises Atego and Antos distribution models, premium long-haul Actros tractors and rigids, rugged Arocs construction chassis and low-entry Econics – as well as popular FUSO Canter light trucks.

“We had a fantastic night in London and it was very gratifying to win these awards, but the hard work does not stop here, far from it,” concluded Andrew Rennie. “We’ll be keeping up the momentum, continuing to invest in our sites and our people, to ensure we continue to deliver the highest possible levels of service to our valued customers.”
