TomTom has introduced the all-new TomTom Trucker 6000, a portable navigation device specifically designed for people who drive large vehicles for a living.
The device will also help drivers know they are on the right road because it includes customised routes for the user’s specific vehicle type, size, weight, cargo and speed.
Through TomTom Traffic and advanced routing technology, drivers will get an ETA based on vehicle profile and real-time traffic information.
The TomTom Trucker will also help make users aware of speed cameras and traffic jams on their route, and the device is designed to be taken out of the professional driving environment and into a family car.
Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director of TomTom Consumer, said: “One of the most important things is for truckers to be able to complete deliveries on time. That’s why we designed the TomTom Trucker with truck-specific routing, and world-class TomTom Traffic information, to enable them to be as efficient as possible with the limited time they are allowed to drive. It’s all part of our mission to get people to where they want to be, faster.”
TomTom Trucker 6000 is available from the second week of June, across Europe, on the TomTom webstore, as well as highstreet retailers with an RRP of £319.99.

I did order my one today from the tom-tom website, I owned a 5250 for 2 weeks, but had problems with the update and the seller was unable to help me. (and tom-tom played the B2B card, no support for private customer without Webfleet) I loved the device so i give the trucker 6000 a chance. And support should not be a problem this time as it is a consumer device!
