Imperial Commercials has opened its latest purpose-built service and parts facility in Swindon.

The location replaces Imperial’s existing site at Britannia Trade Park in Swindon. Additional services include ATF Truck and PSV MOT test-lane accreditation, Pet. Peg. bay and a Tachograph centre, plus new equipment throughout the nine-bay workshop.

All existing staff will relocate to the new facility and recruitment for additional HGV technicians is also underway.

“We’re very excited at the prospects for our new location,” said David Lewis, regional director at Imperial Commercials.

“We enjoyed much success at our Britannia Trading Park location, but our new premises will see a significant service uplift for our customers – not least because of Dorcan’s proximity to the M4 motorway just two miles from junction 15.

"For a service and parts outlet, our new on-site facilities provide a one stop solution for truck operators, with equipment and services more associated with our larger locations. Our ATF Lane, and our Pet.Reg. and Tacho capabilities, significantly boost our service offering.

"We’ve also been able to extend our range of all makes TRP Truck and Trailers Parts to compete for new business,” said Lewis, “and we’re geared-up with extended opening hours and two hour Parts delivery to ensure all our customers receive the highest levels of service already familiar to DAF operators throughout the region.”

Greta Archer, DAF franchise manager, added, “Swindon DAF becomes our 51st ATF in the DAF dealer network, following the appointment of A.Herring in Chesterfield in February. As David says, operators can look forward to the highest service levels – a 95% MOT First-Time-Pass-Rate across the network is evidence of that – and all our dealers carry out quality audits on over 25% of workshop inspections to ensure standards are maintained.
