The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has recognised the work of its members Bidvest Logistics, Hanson Building Products, and Muller Wiseman Dairies by presenting them with FTA Roadworthiness Awards at this year's CV Show.

The FTA highlighted the companies' high standards when maintaining both vehicles and trailers, their exemplary maintenance systems and their methods of controlling driver related defects.

The Roadworthiness Awards were presented by David Wells FTA Chief Executive (Elect), who commented: “These awards are in recognition of the excellent standards they have achieved in vehicle safety and in maintaining the highest levels of vehicle condition compliance.

"I would like to congratulate Bidvest Logistics, Hanson Building Products and Muller Wiseman Dairies, and all those involved within these organisations for the efforts that they have made to ensure their fleets are safe, legal and efficient at all times.”

Hanson Building Products uses FTA auditing services to help ensure its vehicles remain safe, legal and reliable through carrying out inspections on all brick and block vehicles and trailers it operates throughout the country. It was the work of Hanson’s Dewsbury Depot in particular that has once again been recognised for its high standards in controlling safety related defects that ultimately won the FTA Award.

Dale Clarke, national transport manager at Hanson Building Products, said: “Hanson is thrilled to have won this highly regarded award which recognises our commitment to all aspects of safety. We have all put tremendous energy into making safety a top priority and this award is a credit to everyone in our high quality workforce and their exceptional contribution to our excellent safety record.”

The annual Commercial Vehicle Show, Britain’s biggest road transport show, is currently taking place at the NEC in Birmingham. The FTA is situated in Hall 4, Stand 4G31.
