Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has named Claire English as its new head of fleet, replacing David Hanna who recently became head of service and parts.

English has been with the Volkswagen Group since she joined the company on the graduate scheme in 2003, gaining experience in sales operations and marketing with both Skoda and Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

Most recently, as national contract hire and leasing manager, she has been an integral member of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars fleet team, playing a key role in the ongoing development of the brand’s fleet strategy, said Volkswagen.

James Douglas, head of sales operations for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Claire to our brand, and I am sure that her depth of operational fleet knowledge, complemented by her passion for customer experience, will make her a valuable addition to the team.”

In her new role, English will be responsible for all fleet sales, through the five area sales managers and key and central account managers, rental and leasing managers and the local business development managers within the brand’s 72 Van Centres.

She will start her new role at the end of June. Her successor in Volkswagen Passenger Cars will be appointed and announced in due course.
