Axis Fleet Management has appointed Steve Lymer as its new sales director. He steps into the role after the previous incumbent, Leigh Goodland, was promoted to the role of managing director at the end of last year.

Lymer, it says, is a highly experienced operator with a successful track record working in senior management positions at some of the UK’s leading truck, trailer and contract hire companies.

Prior to joining Axis, he was national sales manager at Fraikin. His other previous industry roles include sales and marketing director at SDC Trailers, business development director at Clean Air Power and regional business manager at Volvo Trucks UK.

Lymer said: “I’m delighted to be a part of the Axis team. This new role offers an exciting opportunity for me to help further enhance the company’s world class approach to customer service and continue to drive forward the growth of the business.”

Goodland said: “As a company which is totally focused on providing excellent customer service, we are very pleased to have recruited Steve to the business. His experience and professional pedigree make him a huge asset to the team and will help us build on our commitment to offer our customers the highest standards of service within the market.”

Founded by its executive chairman, Robert Montague, Oxfordshire-headquartered Axis Fleet Management specialises in long-term contract hire and fleet management services, operating over 3,000 assets including trucks, trailers, and rigids.
