Yodel has welcomed three new senior hires to its operations team, with one newly created role.

Adrian Harris joins the business as operations director from Marks & Spencer, where he most recently held the role of director of clothing and home logistics covering both distribution stores and e-commerce fulfilment to customers. Prior to this, Harris worked for Amazon as director of Amazon Logistics (China) and Tesco and Home Retail Group in a range of ecommerce fulfilment, retail supply chain and retail logistics roles in both the UK and China.

Early in his career, he served 10 years in the army as an officer in the Royal Logistics Corps. His extensive knowledge and expertise will see him lead the strategic rebalancing of Yodel’s network to increase levels of service and efficiency.

Lucy Robertson joins Yodel as director of sort and transport, reporting into Harris. Previously at Amazon where she was head of UK external fulfilment, she was also general manager for Argos, where she headed up some of their largest distribution centres.

With full ownership of the design and delivery of an integrated and optimised transport and sortation solution, together Robertson and Harris will develop and implement strategies to deliver significant business benefits.

Mike Watkins, who joined Yodel in September last year, has moved into the newly created role of director of operational planning, following his success as Interim director of sort and transport through the Christmas peak season. Prior to joining Yodel, Watkins held senior operational and strategic roles at Marks & Spencer and Asda. He will be responsible for end-to-end operational planning – a critical business move as Yodel continues its push towards seamless delivery efficiency.

Mike Cooper, CEO of Yodel, said: “As well as investing in our IT systems and innovative technology to streamline the business, we are also investing in talented people to drive our key objective of providing great, consistent, service to our clients and their customers.

“I am delighted to welcome Adrian and Lucy, and to support Mike as he builds our dedicated operational planning function.”
