Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director of O’Donovan Waste Disposal, was crowned Outstanding Woman in Construction at the Women in Construction Awards last week.

O’Donovan has run the family firm, which provides waste management services to the construction and demolition sector, since 1984.

She is a passionate pioneer of construction logistics safety and increasing the recovery of recyclable material from myriad of waste produced on construction sites.

She said: “It was a huge honour to be recognised as the Outstanding Woman in Construction 2016.

“At O’Donovan we have worked tirelessly to improve the safety of vehicles servicing London’s construction industry and the sector’s sustainability credentials by improving recovery and recycling rates.

“It was wonderful to have this hard work recognised in this way, particularly as there were so many inspirational women in the room.”
