Teletrac Navman has secured a contract to supply the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) with fleet management technology for its fleet of vehicles across the UK.

The Southampton-based MCA is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport (DfT). It provides a 24-hour maritime and coastal search and rescue emergency coordination and response service for the United Kingdom with bases across the country.

With a fleet size of 485 vehicles featuring SUVs, vans and hatchbacks, Teletrac Navman’s fleet management solution will provide increased visibility and real-time actionable insight to streamline and safeguard operations.

The MCA has a comprehensive network of staff and some 3,000 volunteers carrying out life-saving work and other activities throughout the UK. To ensure the MCA can maximise the application of the technology, Teletrac Navman has held comprehensive training sessions to develop knowledge, skills and understanding.

Peter Millichap, marketing director at Teletrac Navman UK, said: “The nature of what the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) carry out across the length and breadth of the UK coordinating coastal search and rescue emergency responses means gaining real-time visibility is incredibly important. It is excellent to be supporting a business that provides such an important and life-saving service.”
