Solomon Commercials delivers new fleet to JJ Food Service

Solomon Commercials is delivering a fleet of 40 new vehicles for food wholesaler JJ Food Service.

JJ Food Service employs more than 1,000 people and serves 83,000 customers from small independent café bars to Michelin starred restaurants.

The company has placed an order for 40 vehicles; 20 x 13.5t Isuzus have already been manufactured, with an additional 20 x 3.5t Isuzu Grafters delivered later in the year.

Each of the 13.5t Isuzus bodies has been manufactured to specific requirements with triple doors, rear docking plates, flexible bulkhead and a GAH refrigeration unit with three-phase electric standby.

The 20 x 3.5t Isuzu Grafters will feature lightweight body mounting, single side door, bi-fold bulkhead, double opening rear doors and again, a GAH refrigeration unit.

Kaan Hendekli, head of operations at JJ Foodservice, said: "Transport plays an important role in the quality of products that we deliver, which is why we have invested in state-of-the-art vehicles, helping to make sure our fresh, frozen and chilled food deliveries arrive in the best possible condition."

Ian Lang and sales manager at Solomon Commercials, added: "We are delighted to welcome JJ Food Service back to Solomon and to help them, once again, deliver their products to customers in the best possible condition.

"We discussed JJ's current challenges and made proposals that will provide a more suitable solution to their operation and the longevity of their fleet, maintaining the quality of the service they provide to their customers.

"Something that was taken very seriously by both parties as getting their product from A to B in the best possible condition is critical to JJ Food Service and them helping their customers to succeed."
