Toyota’s new Hilux pick-up will be available with a 2.8-litre diesel engine, producing 204PS and 500Nm of torque.

It is available on the top-of-the-range Invincible X and (in addition to the current 2.4-liture engine) Invincible Double Cab models and is available with a choice of automatic or manual transmission.

Official combined fuel economy is 28.5-30mpg with CO2 emissions of 246-259g/km for the automatic transmission.

Manual gearbox moved offer 31.3-33.2mpg and 224-236g/km.

New Hilux maintains its one-tonne payload capacity and the ability to tow loads up to 3.5 tonnes.

The 150PS 2.4-litre turbodiesel is also available and is fitted with a stop-start system (except the entry-level Active grade).

Toyota last month confirmed the pricing and specification for its new Hilux, which costs from £22,466 (CV OTR).

Hilux is available to order now with customer deliveries from late November.
