Enterprise Flex-E-Rent has opened a new flagship depot in Rugby, which aims to provide a commercial mobility ‘hub’ for businesses needing flexible access to vans, trucks and specialist vehicles.

Enterprise has invested around £1 million in the 3.5-acre site, which replaces a much smaller depot in Coventry.

The site is one of Enterprise’s network of 28 specialist commercial vehicle depots in the UK. It includes three HGV workshop bays and seven van workshop bays, as well as both washing and valeting facilities.

The new depot will provide a wide range of businesses, from home delivery and utilities to construction and infrastructure, with access to vehicles from small vans to HGVs to specialist refrigerated vehicles.

The site includes maintenance and servicing facilities which will decrease the costs associated with vehicle downtime, as it is important to ensure that businesses can remain mobile.

Danny Glynn, managing director of Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, said: “Our Rugby depot is the prototype for how we will deliver commercial vehicle mobility in terms of size and capability.

“It is a clear signal of our ambition to expand and adds another important link to our national branch network, providing businesses with commercial vehicles, technology and expertise essential to keep people and goods moving.”

He continued: “The West Midlands is a key part of the UK economy and there is increasing demand for commercial vehicles from many business sectors.

“This new depot will ensure we continue to provide a first-class service to our customers and support the growth of the regional economy.

“I am delighted that this expansion has enabled us to create 15 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees at Rugby to 30.”

Enterprise Flex-E-Rent is part of the world’s largest car and vehicle rental business, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which has more than 470 passenger car and van rental branches across the UK.
