UK Fuels has launched Radius Future, a new carbon offsetting scheme for its fuel card customers.

The service, which costs an extra 1p per litre of fuel purchased, will offset 100% of the carbon emitted by fleet operators.

The fuel card supplier says it will benefit the 76,000 businesses that buy 1bn litres of fuel, using a UK Fuels fuel card, every year.

Jonathan Haseler, UK Fuels managing director, said: “As a company, our whole strategy is now focused on planning for sustainable travel in the future. This includes investing in electric vehicle charging solutions both on and off road, as well as supporting our customers on their energy transition journey. If every customer takes up Radius Future, together they could accelerate Britain towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.”

The carbon offsetting is delivered by Forest Carbon, which invests in renewable energy projects including wind, hydro, waste-to-energy and solar power.

UK Fuels has pledged not to take any profits from the new biodegradable ‘Radius Future’ fuel card. Carbon footprints will be calculated using UK government conversion factors that correlate litres of diesel and petrol to the equivalent emissions in tonnes of CO2.
