GPS navigation company, Sygic, has signed a global agreement with The Algorithm People to promote its pay-as-you-go transport planning platform, My Transport Planner.

The three-year deal will see Sygic become a Super Partner for My Transport Planner, a web-based tool designed for commercial vehicle operators of all sizes.

The online transport planning software is designed to reduce planning time, increase productivity and cut costs and carbon emission through a reduction in mileage.

Martin Strigac, chief executive officer at Sygic, said: “Reliable and accurate multiple waypoints optimisation is the backbone of timely and efficient delivery. Especially in these times of higher demand for the services. My Transport Planner represents an innovative and unique approach on the technology, which will help van and truck operators using our enterprise solutions to manage daily jobs better, spend less time by planning and lower costs.”

Sygic developed the world’s first satnav solution for Apple and the second for Android devices and it has more than 200 million users worldwide. Sygic says the partnership will enable My Transport Planner to go global.

The global agreement builds on the existing agreement between Sygic and The Algorithm People, as the companies announced in January they were working to integrate Sygic’s Truck Navigation platform into My Transport Planner, providing users with an end-to-end solution from importing jobs, allocating them to vehicles, planning routes and providing drivers with turn-by-turn navigation instructions.

It also includes on-device optimisation, which will give users the ability to optimise routes in real-time on their mobile devices and navigate to their destination while avoiding roads unsuitable for the vehicle.

Colin Ferguson, chief executive officer at The Algorithm People, said: “Our technical partnership with Sygic was focused on integration to create a true end-to-end solution for commercial vehicle operators. This new commercial agreement builds on our relationship, providing us with a fast route to global markets, with a trusted, well established and highly respected brand.”

Sygic and My Transport Planner are hosting a free webinar on June 17 to highlight the benefits of route optimisation to commercial vehicle operators. To register for the webinar, click here.
