Pendle Borough Council has renewed its contract with Go Plant Fleet Services.

The fleet provider will supply and maintain a fleet of more than 40 specialist vehicles.

UK-based company, Go Plant Fleet Services, a commercial vehicle solutions company, has been in partnership with the Local Authority for just under a decade.

Now the contract has been extended for a further seven years, with an option to extend.

Arthur Macklin, bid director at Go Plant Fleet Services, said: “While we’ve worked with Pendle Council for some time, we had to go through a tender process to demonstrate quality and cost-effectiveness in every area of the contract.

“They discussed the option of keeping fleet management in-house, but see the operational and financial value of using us to both source their vehicles and provide comprehensive fleet management services.

“Our relationship with the council has evolved over almost 10 years. We supply their entire fleet of vehicles and ensure each is properly maintained through our own professional team.

“It’s a comprehensive service that delivers significant benefits to the authority and we’re obviously delighted that will continue.”

The contract fleet includes 13 RCVs, 12 grounds maintenance vehicles, five compact sweepers, 13 vans and an 18-tonne truck-mounted road sweeper.

Three technicians will be working full time at the council’s Lancashire-based workshop.

The company will continue to provide the council with the capacity and infrastructure across every level of the business to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Go Plant Fleet Services' have been used by more than 60 local authorities in some capacity, and also provide solutions to a variety of private UK sector businesses.
