Nuneaton-based KSD has added a further 10 DAF CF 410 FAD 8x4 tippers after being impressed with 10 early Euro-6 models adopted just under two years ago.

KSD's fleet currently has 55 trucks, with the majority being multi-wheel rigids.

Glenn Waterfield, fleet manager at KSD, said: “They are excellent trucks. We can’t say we haven’t tried other marques back in the day, but we just keep coming back to DAF.

"We believe we are giving them the best trucks for the job, but after that those things are all down to the drivers using the capabilities of those trucks to the very best advantage."

The twin-steer DAF CF 410 FADs are all fitted with Edbro tipping gear, with half the new arrivals being bodied by Boweld with their Steel Taperlite HD bodies, and the others by Marshalls who have fitted their Hardox steel bodies.

KSD’s new trucks come with DAF Warranty Plus, which includes two-year vehicle warranty and a third year of driveline cover. Each tipper has gear-shifting advice, speed control systems which lead to increased fuel efficiency.

DAF, just under a year ago, moved to its new £20 million headquarters and training facilities. It is now located in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. Its 50,000 sq ft building has nearly 200 people working in it.

Its investment in the workplace was described by Robin Easton, managing director of DAF Trucks, as “a demonstration of the commitment to further strengthen DAF’s leading position in the UK market”.
