Stolen van recovered 150 miles away with ABAX GPS Tracker

Barford Van Hire was able to recover a stolen vehicle due to having a GPS tracker installed.

The Norfolk-based rental company had heard of an increase in reports of local stolen vehicles, therefore decided to implement the ABAX Vehicle Tracking system to secure its fleet.

The importance of the tracking system was highlighted when the company had one of its Mercedes Sprinter Luton vans stolen during the night in Norwich.

It was recovered 150 miles away in Kent.

Robbie Dunderdale, rental assistant at Barford Van Hire, said: “We were able to track the vehicle in real time and relay the position to the Police control room over the phone, which was absolutely brilliant.

“Everything on the ABAX Triplog interface is clearly displayed and easy to use when operating the system in a pressured situation.”

The Triplog system has the ability to print off a detailed report of a chosen vehicle’s movements. This includes accurate dates, time and positions, allowing users to help the police with the further investigation once the vehicle is recovered.
