Culina Group adopts Labcraft Banksman for safer night-time working

Culina Group is specifying Labcraft’s Banksman system to improve visibility and maintain safety during night-time vehicle operations.

The Banksman system uses high-intensity LEDs to project a white light at a specified angle from the vehicle sides on to the surrounding area to illuminate the area where traditional reversing lights cannot cover.

The system, positioned on each side of the chassis, comes on automatically when reverse gear is engaged.

Culina Group is a food and drink warehousing, distribution and transport specialist which, from a national network of around 60 depots, operates more than 1,000 vehicles and delivers to more than 4,500 destinations.

Mark Matkin, group fleet manager at Culina Group, said: “Much of this work is carried out during the hours of darkness and of course, this is when we need to be especially vigilant as vehicles are manoeuvring in confined areas, such as forecourts and loading bays.”
