The Freight Transport Association has announced the dates and 10 venues for its 2018 series of Transport Manager conferences.

The events, which will take place from September, will highlight key issues for those working in the logistics industry, to help them remain compliant and up to date on legislation.

This year's conferences will give delegates the chance to hear from a range of senior industry experts and policy makers, and will include a ‘your questions answered' session with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

Other topics to be covered by the event's speakers include Earned Recognition, urban access, the recently relaunched Logistics Emissions Reduction Scheme (LERS), smart tachographs and managing your maintenance provider.

The FTA Member Advice Centre interactive quiz will return, and the association's experts will be on hand throughout the day to advise on legislation and compliance issues.

James Firth, FTA's head of road freight regulation policy, said: "These events are an essential tool to help transport managers stay up-to-date with ever-changing legislation and best practice across the industry.

"The fact that numbers have grown year-on-year illustrates the regard in which they are held by operators.

"Compliance is key in the logistics industry and the Transport Manager conferences provide reassurance that operators are equipped with the most current information available, as well as the chance to ask questions of those formulating the rules by which transport managers must operate."

To attend, the cost for FTA members is £295 plus VAT for the first delegate and £265 plus VAT for subsequent delegates; for non-FTA members £395 plus VAT for the first delegate and £365 plus VAT for subsequent delegates.

This price includes access to all the conference sessions, a full package of refreshments throughout the day, and a goodie bag, packed with useful information.
