The Sovini Group has installed Lightfoot across its fleet of 170 vehicles to improve driver safety and cut fuel costs.

The property management and development group, which includes Carroll Build, Sovini Property Services and Sovini Trade Supplies, introduced the telematics technology after a trial which reduced its instances of potentially high-risk or inefficient driving by more than 97%, resulting in fuel savings of 8.4%.

Lee Daly, group fleet manager at The Sovini Group, said: “As a not-for profit organisation, we always look to reduce the cost of our fleets, whilst also creating better and safer drivers, which is something that Lightfoot enables us to do.”

Following the introduction of Lightfoot, The Sovini Group is shortly due to launch its own driver reward scheme in recognition of the improved safety standards of its drivers.

The scheme is being managed by Lightfoot as part of its new Driver Perks service and recently launched sponsored leagues, which allows suppliers, partners or insurers of Lightfoot fleets to sponsor their own dedicated league. This ensures that one driver in the fleet wins a reward every week.
