Mercedes-Benz Vans has delivered specialist training to help TOM Vehicle Rental improve its customer service.

The manufacturer's programme of product training was designed to provide members of TOM’s sales force with a deeper, more detailed appreciation of the features and attributes of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles which form a large proportion of its van hire fleet.

The additional knowledge and expertise they have gained is now being employed by TOM staff to help their own customers choose the vehicles best suited to keeping their businesses moving, and operate them as efficiently as possible.

TOM sales and marketing director James Rafferty said: "Our company has its roots in aftersales, so we’ve always understood the importance of providing our customers with great service, as well as top-quality vehicles.

“After working with Mercedes-Benz to give our sales colleagues a fuller appreciation of what these excellent vans can do, we’re now able to offer an even more helpful, professional service which will provide added value for our customers.”

Also attending were TOM customer support executives and members of the company’s national sales, van supply chain and fleet support teams.

TOM Vehicle Rental’s 16,000-strong commercial fleet includes substantial numbers of compact Citans, mid-sized Vito models and larger Sprinters in a wide variety of body styles, sizes and configurations.
