Iveco has previewed its Stralis X-Way truck which is designed for on-road applications and light off-road mobility.

Due to arrive in markets across Europe in September, Iveco says the vehicle combines Trakker chassis strength with the fuel saving and safety features of new Stralis.

Pierre Lahutte, Iveco brand president, said: “With the X-Way, our customers can have the confidence to tackle the uneven and sometimes challenging terrain encountered during the ‘last mile’ when delivering to construction sites."

It is available with 9-litre, 11-litre and 13-litre engines. These feature Hi-SCR technology, with no EGR and no parked regeneration, to cut emissions and increase fuel efficiency, while lowering maintenance costs.

The Stralis X-Way offers a choice of artic and rigid versions; different axles, suspensions, vehicle setups, engines and transmissions; Hi-Traction hydrostatic drive; a wide range of engines and gearbox PTOs; and on- and off-road homologations.

It also offers a choice of cabs: the AD (Active Day) short cab with low roof, AT (Active Time) sleeper cab with low or medium roof, and  AS (Active Space) sleeper cab.
