Bell Group UK has upgraded its vehicle tracking capabilities with an advanced telematics solution from Ctrack.

The contract painting, decorating and maintenance specialist has adopted Ctrack Online along with the Ctrack Mobi2 mobile app, which will enable supervisors and managers to access tracking information when away from the office.

Bell Group will use the system to monitor driver behaviour, business/private mileage and operational performance across a fleet of more than 300 vans.

Ctrack Online will support Bell Group’s ongoing fleet strategy, which is designed to improve road safety, minimise environmental impact and achieve operating efficiencies.

The company has been working with Ctrack for more than 10 years, resulting in measurable improvements in fleet performance including significant fuel savings, lower insurance premiums and a reduction in unauthorised personal vehicle usage.

Around 30 supervisors and managers will use Ctrack Mobi2 to monitor vehicles via a smartphone when they are away from the office, with no access to a laptop or PC.

The mobile application’s vehicle list will provide a snapshot view of all resources, with the ability to drill down and obtain a range of additional data.

The journey history will also offer the ability to view individual vehicle trips in a list or map view, while the driver behaviour report will identify speeding and other driving exceptions across the fleet.

Ian Henderson, group managing director of Bell Group UK, said: “Our partnership with Ctrack has helped us optimise our mobile resources, allowing us to address key fleet issues and keep costs under control.

"This latest upgrade further increases our tracking capabilities in line with the objectives of our fleet strategy, which aims to boost performance, achieve legislative compliance and enhance duty of care.”

Ctrack Online is a web-based vehicle tracking system providing visibility and control over mobile assets.
