The Vehicle Group (TVG) has been awarded a contract to install a new CCTV system in the fleet of Peter Green Chilled, which provides temperature-controlled services to the food and drink industry.

The  CCTV system will have four cameras covering the front, offside, nearside and nearside front corner of each vehicle, the footage of which will be recorded by DVRs with 4G capability.

The cameras will feed into an in-cab monitor. Switching on automatically when the drivers indicate left or right, the cameras will assist them when they’re manoeuvring.

In addition, Peter Green Chilled will have the option to view CCTV footage live, accessing it immediately and remotely. The system is to be fitted to 50 vehicles which travel throughout Europe.

Peter Green Chilled has also entered into a five-year 4G contract for support services from TVG including data monitoring, weekly health checks and live maintenance reports of the CCTV and camera systems.

Colin Davis, transport manager for Peter Green Chilled, said: “We’re pleased to be working with TVG to improve still further our excellent safety record with a more sophisticated CCTV and camera system.

"With the safety of vulnerable road users a key industry priority, we’re determined to do our bit to keep roads safe.”
